Britney: Don't Leave Home Without It!

A judge just ruled that Jamie Spears can give Britney a debit/credit card to use that has a $1,500 per week limit on it.

Jamie's lawyer, Geraldine Wyle, said it was "so she can spend money, have her freedom, and make choices about how she wants to enjoy her life."

Britney had the choice to appear at the hearing today -- but ultimately decided being on the set of "How I Met Your Mother" was the way to go.

76. from page 6:

CUSTODY UPDATE:
UPDATE: Public Information Officer Allan Parachini just held a press conference and told reporters that Commissioner Gordon took the matter of the attorney's fees under advisement, but there's unlikely to be a ruling today.

He revealed that there was a stipulation made on visition, but it is sealed. Parachini said that Kevin Federline spoke briefly during the closed hearing "very crypictically," adding that Jamie Spears was more involved.

Tellingly, K-Fed's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, has chosen not to hold one of his regular press conferences today following the hearing.

CONSERVATORSHIP HEARING:
Jamie Spears, Britney's dad and conservator, told the court today that he would like to give the singer a debit card, loaded with $1,500 per week. The amount, $1,000 less than he himself will be making as conservator, is to give Brit more freedom.

The 26-year-old mom exercised her freedom to not attend today's hearing, despite the advice of her appointed attorney Samuel Ingham and the court's assurances of security. Ingham told the court that while Britney did not object to the hearing, she did object to elements of it.

PSYCH:
Britney Spears' conservatorship hearing has concluded, after a physician's report on the singer's status was submitted and attorney Samuel Ingahm gave the court an update on her well-being.

Brit faces not one but two psychiatric evaluations in May, as both the probate court (where her conservatorship case is heard) and family court have requested one. The family court will hear the results on May 6, while the probate court will go over an evaluation on the 29th.

Otherwise, lawyers for all sides are expected back on April 17 to discuss a matter near and dear to their hearts, attorneys' fees.

---------------
So, it took dozens of post to tell us - no new news except for more court dates and Britney's credit card. I love the "tellingly" Kaplan didn't hold a press conference bit, and that they admitted that Brit does not agree with some parts......
Good luck Britney is all I can say. 2 sessions in May!!!

77. Only "illness" she's got is that she's full of herself! She needs those laxatives allright.

79. #65 I completely agree with you and have posted this same stance on TMZ and other forums. I definitely don't read as many critical comments about women who are in the same situation as Kevin regarding alimony and /or child support. I also believe that had Kevin been behaving like Britney, the court would have awarded primary custody to her a long time ago.

81. "In addition, Goetz approved the hiring of two specialist attorneys to help the singer and her lawyers sort out her affairs while Spears is under a temporary co-conservatorship.

One, Jorge Hernandez, will get a $25,000 retainer to be an around-the-clock consultant on all questions pertaining to the co-conservatorship. The other, lawyer Tom Hansen, will receive $15,000 a month for his services as an entertainment lawyer consulting on Spears's entertainment deals and contracts." PEOPLE.

I guess for the audit and such? ......More lawyers. More money.

84. I think that if old man Spears really want to keep Brit-Billy under control, then he should chain her to the radiator. It worked for Sam Jackson.

85. $6K a month is a lot of money to decide what to spend it on aside from every day living expenses. The $35K rent per month for one of the homes needs to be examined. Depending on the terms and date the lease was signed, it should be renegotiated if possible. At the very least, not renewed when the time is up. $420K is a lot of money to throw away in one year on rent, especially when there is another home not too far away from that one. Bella

86. You go Britney, keep on being fabulous, keep on spending your hard earned
money and investing in coffee and Starbucks. By the way, everybody knows her "kids" are
not hers, it was all a hoax by Ashton.

87.
so let's break it down;

$1,500 a weak is " pocket money " for the girl.

in industry terms, it's called pity cash.

with all due consideration that EVERYTHING else will be paid for, ie;

car leases, mortgage payments, the hired help, etc., that should be just enough to squeak by on.

also granted that 99% of 20-something year olds don't make,

let alone spend, $6 grand a month / roughly $75 grand a year.

it will keep her appreciating what she HAS, not the unfulfilled need to acquire more.

88. something is wrong when Brit can only have 1500 a week of her money, when her father is getting 2500 a week of her money,

89. i almost feel sorry for her ...that's her freakin` money, she earned it and she's not allowed to spend it....that must suck.

90. Eh, I hear you 'look at it' but damn...the girl is 26 not 19 (or 16
if you want to use her sister as an example) ... at that age you are
old enough to decide whether getting your children back (shared
custody or even visitation) is or is NOT a priority in your life ... I
don't care what addiction or 'disorder' you want to claim to have...
somewhere in the process YOU have to decide what YOU feel is worth
fighting for... Brit doesn't seem to think anything is worth the
fight....
